BIOGRAPHY

Chris Stowell is an award winning English born photographer that loves the things he shoots, and shoots the things he loves… so that would be food, animals, mountain biking, snowboarding, mountains and lakes.

Chris lives in Reno, Nevada which is rather handy for Lake Tahoe and the beautiful Sierra Nevada.

Chris’s aim is to end each day feeling like he didn’t work at all, but had a huge amount of fun and got paid for it. He thinks that approach shows in his work, and that a passion and deep knowledge of his subject matter produces superior photographs, that and hard work. Chris is a grafter.

Chris has 3 small, cute, white, fluffy dogs with big personalities that don’t like to be photographed. He takes this aversion to his camera as a challenge and thinks the experience of coaxing good photos out of his shy dog helps him when he is asked to photograph other camera shy dogs.

Chris thought he had peaked photographically at the age of 16 by exhibiting in the Tate Gallery in London - but after driving a desk for nearly 20 years, then being dragged back into photography – isn’t quite sure about that yet. Time will tell, but confidence is high.
